Adjusting your mind and body to daylight savings time can be rough (especially when new moms are lacking in sleep as it is), but it’s even more important to help baby adjust with ease. So as we prepare to spring ahead this Sunday and lose an hour of sleep, keep these tips in mind for baby’s routine:
- Start putting baby to sleep 10 minutes early the week leading up to daylight savings. This will help the adjustment seem more gradual.
- Keep your bedtime behavior consistent.
- After the change if it’s too light out for baby’s bedtime, try using room-darkening curtains in your nursery.
